    NBC/NBCSN national schedule released, B's will appear a league-high 12 times

The NHL and NBC Sports Group released their national broadcast schedule for the upcoming 2014-15 season, and your Boston Bruins will be getting a whole lotta time in the spotlight.

The Black and Gold will appear a league-high 12 times on NBC and NBC Sports Network, tied with the Flyers, Capitals, Sharks and Kings for most in the NHL. Seven of those 12 games will be played on NBCSN's "Wednesday Night Rivalry." Surprisingly enough, none of the seven include a date with the Montreal Canadiens, which is actually a good thing because that means all four game between the two clubs will all be aired on NESN instead.

The B's will take on the Philadelphia Flyers, Washington Capitals, Pittsburgh Penguins, Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Minnesota Wild in their seven "Rivalry" games. Why the Minnesotta Wild? I'm guessing because of two minutes in back in 1977:

Here is the full list of nationally televised games for the B's, which include five "flex" games, which will be viewed on NESN locally. Outside of New England, those five games will appear on either NBC or NBCSN, with the league deciding on the channel between now and then.

In maybe one of the worst travesties to come from the release of the 2014 schedule, the Bruins will not play the "Black Friday" matinee game as they have the previous few seasons, with the league instead putting the Flyers and Rangers in the time slot. Boston will still play on "Black Friday," but they will do so by taking on the Winnipeg Jets for a 7:00 p.m. puckdrop. Thanks a lot, Bettman!
