One of the top free agent forwards, Paul Stastny, has been signed by the St. Louis Blues. The deal is for four years and an average of $7 million per year.

Stastny's vision and playmaking abilities will significantly improve the Blues up the middle, as they compete against teams such as the Kings and Blackhawks in the powerful Western Conference.

Stastny had 25 goals and 35 assists in 71 games for the Avalanche last season. He was one of the best players in the Avs' first round series against the Wild, but after not coming to an agreement, Stastny decided to move on.
