Thomas Vanek signed by Minnesota Wild

The Minnesota Wild have announced the signing of 30-year-old left wing Thomas Vanek to a 3-year, $19.5 million contract. With this signing, the Wild add more offense to their ever-improving team. The "Bruin killer" is out of the Eastern Conference, and will no longer be the same thorn in our sides that he has been his entire career.

Vanek is a big man who loves going to the dirty areas to score goals. He's not only strong in front of the net, but can score from all areas of the offensive zone with his cannon of a shot.

He is still producing offense at a high rate. He scored 27 goals and 41 assists in 78 games between the Sabres, Islanders, and Canadiens last season.
