Battling the flu and injuries, four B's absent from Wed. practice

With the Bruins having dealt with the flu going around the locker room the past 24 hours, the focus has shifted back to the practice ice at Ristuccia Arena as the Bruins gear up for Game 1 at the Garden Friday night versus the Red Wings.

On Tuesday, the Bruins were without Patrice Bergeron, Loui Eriksson, Kevan Miller, Matt Bartkowski and Andrej Meszaros for practice, who were all battling flu-like symptoms. Chris Kelly (back) and Daniel Paille (head) were also not the ice Tuesday.

Fast-forward to today, the Bruins had a few bodies back in action, as Bergeron, Eriksson and Meszaros returned for practice. Miller and Bartkowski were still missing as they continued to battle the flu, and Kelly and Paille again did not participate due to their respective injuries.

CSNNE's Joe Haggerty also reported that defenseman Dennis Seidenberg continued his rehab with strength and conditioning coach and 'Behind the B' celebrity John Whitesides, skating lightly for 30 minutes before the Bruins hit the ice for practice. Haggerty also reported that defenseman Adam McQuaid has not been present before or after the last few practice sessions, and he speculates McQuaid may have suffered yet another setback in his recovery from a quad injury that has kept him out of action since January 19th.

These were the line combos during practice:

    Lucic - Krejci - Iginla

    Marchand - Bergeron - Smith

    Caron - Soderberg - Eriksson

    Florek - Campbell - Thornton

    Chara - Hamilton

    Meszaros - Boychuck

    Krug - Potter
