    Bourque placed on waivers

I wrote before the season began I wrote on how Chris Bourque's stock was rising within the Bruins organization. Both Claude Julien and Peter Chiarelli were high on Chris and felt he could be a contributing factor for the team this year.

Unfortunately, Bourque was unable to live up to expectations. His subpar play became increasingly evident as the season progressed, and finally today the Bruins front office were forced to do something about it. Bourque's stint with the Bruins is over for the time being. He was placed on waivers this morning, and teams have until noon tomorrow to claim him.

Looks like Bourque will be heading back to Providence

If no one picks him up, he will be reassigned to Providence, a place and team he is all to familiar with. In 18 games this year, during which he saw decent ice time, Bourque managed just four points (one goal, three assists) and was not the valuable role player many had hoped he would be. Jay Pandolfo will replace Bourque in the lineup.

It's too bad to see things come to an end for  Bourque like this, as he seems to be a good guy and extremely hard worker. Unfortunately this does not come as much of a surprise as he was simply not playing well enough to be a consistent player for this team.
