    Adam McQuaid out 6-8 weeks with broken thumb

    Per General Manager Peter Chiarelli and the Boston Bruins (@NHLBruins), Adam McQuaid is out six to eight weeks with a broken thumb. McQuaid suffered the injury in last night's game against the St. Louis Blues while blocking a shot during the second period.

    This is another big blow to an already injury-plagued defense core. Kevin Miller should be returning to the lineup soon and Zdeno Chara is still nursing his injury.
