Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced on March 2 that the Bruins have acquired forward Brett Connolly from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for two draft picks.

The Bruins gave up their natural 2015 second round draft pick and their natural 2016 second round draft pick in exchange for the 22 year old.

The 6'2 forward has 12 goals, three assists and 38 penalty minutes in 50 games this season. In total, Connolly has laced up for 134 career games for Tampa and has a total of 18 goals, 14 assists and 72 penalty minutes.

Connolly was the sixth overall pick of the 2010 NHL draft. A big body with a high ceiling, Connolly can help out the Bruins on the right wing as the forward has been having a great season with Tampa.
