David Pastrnak has been an absolute lightning bolt of energy for the Boston Bruins since his call-up in November, and on Sunday against the Carolina Hurricanes, he struck again.
Pastrnak, off a feed from Carl Soderberg, was able to beat former Bruin Anton Khudobin, for the game-winner. With that goal, he was able to put his name into the history books. Pastrnak now holds the franchise record for the youngest player to register a goal in overtime. The 18-year-old breaks the record held by Grigori Panteleev, who was 20-years-old at the time.
Pastrnak's 10th goal of the season gives the Bruins some much needed breathing room. albeit small, they now have a three-point lead on Ottawa for 8th place.
