Niklas Backstrom Suspended for a Game

Niklas Backstrom has been suspended for one game because of his high cross check to Rich Peverley at the end of Monday's game. Brendan Shanahan, NHL Senior Vice President for Player Safety and Hockey Operations said that "Backstrom's reaction was excessive and reckless." Bruins head coach Claude Julien said that his players have taken several high cross checks over this series against the Capitals. So, in game four, Washington will be without one of their best players.
In other Bruins news, Boston had the day off yesterday and will be playing game four tomorrow night in Washington. Also, Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask began working out over a week ago. It is unknown when he will be able to return but the Bruins do not want to rush him. Boston does know that he is on the right track and is starting to feel good again. The Bruins will be playing their next game against the Capitals tomorrow at 7:30 pm in Washington. Be sure to catch the game live on CBC, NBCSN, RDS, and NESN. The Bruins will then return home for game five on Saturday. As of right now, the Bruins lead this series 2-1.
