    Power Play Improvements?

Hopefully there will be a lot of celebrating this year

This morning Joe Haggerty tweeted that Lucic, Seguin, Horton, Krejci and Chara were working power play drills. He adds that young gun Hamilton and newly acquired Bourque were on a second line including the likes of Bergy, Seidenberg, and Marchand.

As we all remember the power play the past couple of years has been HORENDOUS. It came to the point sometimes during the 2011 Cup run that I would wish the refs would stop penalizing the opponent. According to YAHOO last year the Bruins were in the middle of the pack with a 17.2% Power Play success rate, while the Penalty Kill was near the top with an 83.5% success rate. During the 2011 cup run the power play was dreadful at 11.4% but the Penalty Kill was strong with a 84.4% rate. And let's remember last year against the Caps where we had a 8.7% success rate.

Also another heads up, according to ESPN the Bruins rank 6th for preseason power rankings and CBS also ranks them 6th. The only other teams in the East ahead of them are the Rangers at 1 and 3 and the Penguins at 4 and 2. The only team that really scares me in the East are the Rangers. The Penguins are solid, but are a little over rated.

Let's hope Claude knows what he's doing and hopefully the power play will turn it around. 6 days til tip off.
