Keys To The Game Vs Lightning

The Bruins are coming off of another dissapointing loss in the shortened season. With the playoffs looming and only three games left the Bruins don't look so hot.

Tonight the Bruins play the Tampa Bay Lightning and look to try to steady the ship before the NHL playoffs. The Boston Bruins have clinched a playoff spot and the Tampa Bay Lightning are well out of the playoffs. But that doesnt make this game meaningless for the Bruins becuase they are second in the Eastern Conference and first in the Northeast Division. But they are tied in points with the Habs at 59. The Bruins hold the tiebreaker becuase they have three games left compared to the Habs two.

Its time for the Bruins to start resting players. Its especially time to give big Z some rest. Zdeno Chara is 36 years old and it showed, for maybe the first time, in the game against the Flyers. Chara was obviosly tired and slow letting people blow by him. He also scored on the Bruins net but that was amore Khudobins fault than Chara's, you can see that video below.

The Bruins only have three games to get the lines right and rest the right guys. Thanks to Claude Julien the best line combinations may never see the ice. Tonights project lines are below:

    Marchand - Bergeron - Seguin
    Lucic - Krejci - Peverley
    Soderberg - Kelly - Jagr
    Paille - Campbell - Thornton

    Chara - Seidenberg
    McQuaid - Redden
    Ference - Boychuk

(Its easy to be friends with the sucky team)

On another note, Wade Redden scored one goal and almost had a second against the Flyers. If he becomes a top 4 defenseman that would allow a Siedenberg-Chara pairing in the playoffs and Redden could play with Dougie Hamilton. Its a possibilty that if comes true, Chiarelli will get praised again.
