Connolly out 6 weeks with "displaced fracture" in finger

What a year it's been for the Boston Bruins.

In another stroke of bad luck, newly acquired forward Brett Connolly was injured today after only participating in half of a practice. Connolly took a puck off the hand - reportedly shot by defenseman Dennis Seidenberg - and suffered a "displaced fracture in his right index finger."

Connolly will be out for six weeks, making his return set for April 15th, barring any setbacks. This could see Connolly making his debut in the Bruins' lineup during the first round of playoffs - not an ideal scenario for a new, young player trying to find his role on the team.

Many fans were excited to see which line Connolly would suit up with - yesterday it was the fourth line, and he was supposed to practice alongside the Swedes today - but they'll just have to wait anothersix weeks to see what the 22-year-old forward can do.
